Meg Myers

I have been loving this chick since I first herd this. Turns out her producer is Psychic Andy from Totally Laime. She is super hot super talented and from Tennessee I so assume she likes whiskey and has not become totally beaten down by the LA music scene.  Keep an eye on her. Here is the link for the old video as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVQqZg5BisE

Another look at the Graffiti Seen

It’s funny, getting older I mean. For me its strange seeing the names I used to see on the street on flyers for gallery openings. I remember the first time i saw an ad for choes latest LA show and it struck me how professional the flyers lay out was. Minimalist lines, hard vibrant colors and his name, not in some sick hand style but in futura med.

With that in mind I wanted to say thanks to those who have moved in to gallery work for all the inspiration. Please for the next gen please still hit the freights.

Black Mirror

I am all for technology moving man kind forward. However a lot of my friends are worried about the fact that so much information is so readily available. Last year the BBC did a series called Black Mirror looking at the potential pit falls of the information age. This preview does not even begin to do this series justice.

I have not heard any plans of a US release date. However I know the more resourceful readers will have no problem finding a copy.

Chargers Draft 2

The chargers said they were going D heavy in the draft and they did not disappoint. Have a look at Kendall Reyes.

Chargers Draft

For the past few years the Chargers have not drafted well. That being said this year was great. We got Melvin Ingram. This guy is an absolute beast and might be the defensive piece we have been missing.

Book Worm

I destroyed plenty of text books in my youth by drawing all over them This artiest takes a different approach. Etching into the books to create sculptures.

Machiavelli

Well it looks like nothing is sacred any more. Not even 2pac is exempt from having his friends drag him out on stage for one last show. The 2pac hologram was part of the last night of coachella’s first weekend. Looking forward to seeing Cobain-bot close out the festival.

Comedy
The way we consume media is constantly changing. Manny musicians have figured out that offering their music for a download/donation rather than involving record labels for distribution actually pays more. It seems this trend has now crossed over in to the world of comedy. Louis CK, Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan are a few of the comedians offering their stand up specials for next to nothing to download. The artiest sees more profit, media is readily available and no resources are waisted in packaging. Whats not to love.
